Marbella Lifestyle

Marbella's motto is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all. It is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous and it’s not hard to see why. With its endless supply of world-class restaurants, luxury hotels, spectacular golf courses, fashionable shops, lovely marina and a vast number of lively bars and clubs, Marbella's Way of life will keep you entertained day or night.

But Marbella has a down to earth side as well: more than 130,000 people are permanent residents in Marbella, who go about their daily lives as they would in any other city – holding down a job or going to school, paying household bills and completing the weekly supermarket run. The difference compared to living in most other cities, lays in the fact that for most of the year – once you have completed your daily chores – you can step outside and feel like you are truly on holiday in one of the world’s finest resorts.

Trudging away at a job becomes so much more bearable in the knowledge that later that day you will be meeting friends for a fine meal out in a world-class restaurant, with a football legend seated two tables away. Or maybe you’ll be planning a chilled out Sunday afternoon in one of Marbella’s exclusive beach clubs, like Nikki Beach or Buddha Beach, bopping your head at a leading DJ’s tunes. How about dancing the night away in one of the nightclubs in and around Puerto Banús, rubbing shoulders with your favourite soap star? Every weekend in Marbella instantly becomes a mini-holiday, but without the nuisance of having to travel to your destination first.

Puerto Banús, just west of Marbella, has long been labelled the ultimate in coastal charisma; this is the place to be seen. If you are looking for a bit of yacht-side pampering, celebrity-spotting or window shopping at one of several of the world renowned fashion houses and boutiques, Puerto Banús is the place to be. The nightlife here is buzzing with alfresco bars, piano clubs and nightclubs which are open dusk until dawn.

With its year-round overexposure to fame and glamour, the locals could possibly become indifferent to the high-life in Marbella. It is unlikely in our opinion that you’d ever become bored here, but just in case, the town has ensured your continued entertainment by organising a number of international events. The Marbella International Film Festival is fast becoming a well-established event, but the town has also hosted the Davis Cup, it has organised an International Art Festival and several of the golf courses around Marbella host international Golf tournaments.
